This form will be available October 1st and is due no later than Octover 10th. 

Dancers must abide by all hair requirements for in-studio dress rehearsals, dress rehearsals at the Masonic Center, and all Performances. No Exceptions.

We understand that many of you are new to performance hair and makeup. Please just try your best! This is why we have dress rehearsals, to help work out the kinks prior to performance day!

Nutcracker Tickets will go on sale on November 1st at 9:30am.

While we do not anticiapte a sell out, we cannot guarantee that there will be tickets available at the door. All ticket sales are first come first serves. All ticket sales are final an non-refundable.

The Nutcracker is more than just a beloved family tradition—it is the premier showcase for our dancers, who have dedicated countless hours to their craft.

Last year, over 2,000 people attended our performances during Nutcracker weekend.

Our annual Snowflake Soiree also provides the dancers an opportunity to celebrate their hard work and thank their supporters on the opening night of the Nutcracker.​

We reccommend checking the call board at least weekly if not more often to ensure that you are aware of the most current and up to date rehearsal schedule. 

for communication regarding non-company participation in Nutcracker we use the BAND app.

It is required that at least one parent/guardian join the BAND for Nutcracker for ease of communication BAND is an app where Parents and SDDT Moderators can communicate in an open forum. Through the app you can ask questions, store files, privately chat with moderators, sign up for volunteer opportunities and more!

BAND is our main method of communication for Nutcracker, however some information regarding important forms or events will also be emailed to you.

Form due no later than October 15th. Additional flowers may be available for purchase at our Nutcracker events. 

Costume for our Nutcracker will be fit to your dancer during one of their weekly rehearsals in either September or October. Please click the link below to view more information regarding costumes.

This link also contains information regarding specific costume and all of the pieces required. Please note that some items for each costume may need to be provided by the dancer (ex. black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, etc.)

This holiday season, South Dayton Dance Theatre, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, will present its annual production of The Nutcracker, a beloved tradition that draws families from across the Dayton area. With over 2,000 audience members attending across multiple performances, your business has the opportunity to reach a large, loyal, and family-oriented audience.

Our audience is made up of local families, community members, and supporters of the arts—exactly the kind of engaged customers you want to connect with. By advertising in our professionally printed program, you not only promote your business but also support young dancers and the performing arts in our community.

Nutcracker Dress Rehearsals will take place on Friday December 5th and Saturday December 6th. Please see info regarding these rehearsals below.

Non-Company Nutcracker auditions will take place at South Dayton School of Dance on Saturday September 6th.

Dancers must be enrolled in ballet classes at SDSD to audition. Dancers should wear their leotard, tights, ballet shoes and hair secured in a bun. 

​

Audition Schedule:

Ballet 1 - 1:30-2:00pm

Ballet 2 & 3 - 2:00-2:30pm

Ballet 4+ - 2:30-3:00pm

Each dancer is required to have a parent/guardian volunteer to supervise non-company dancers for one time slot at an in-studio rehearsal and one time slot

during our dress-rehearsals or performances during our show weekend.

If you have 2 dancers participating you are responsible for double the requirement

Non-Company dancers are either invoved in Act 1 or Act 2 of our production, not both. Please click the link below to ensure that you are aware of which act your dancer is involved in. This is crucial information to have when reviewing the rehearsal schedule.
